Clean. Vigorous. Proven.
Our Oyster Mushroom liquid cultures feature a curated selection of Pleurotus varieties, each supplied as actively growing mycelium in a sterile, nutrient-rich solution.
Designed for fast colonisation and predictable performance, liquid culture offers a more efficient and consistent alternative to traditional spore-based approaches.
Each batch is produced from carefully maintained master cultures and tested on agar to ensure purity, health, and reliability.
Available Varieties
Select from the following Oyster Mushroom liquid cultures:
- Blue Oyster
- King Oyster
- Elm Oyster
- Golden Oyster
- Pink Oyster
- Pearl Oyster
Each strain offers its own unique characteristics, from rapid colonisation and resilience to distinct morphological traits, making them ideal for a wide range of research and observational purposes.
Why Choose Liquid Culture
Liquid culture provides a cleaner, faster, and more reliable starting point:
- Skips the 1 to 4 week germination phase
- Encourages faster colonisation
- Reduces contamination risk
- Delivers consistent, proven genetics
What to Expect
Oyster mushroom mycelium is widely recognised for its:
- Fast and aggressive growth
- Strong colonisation ability
- Adaptability across different conditions
- Distinct and observable growth patterns

What Substrate Should I Use?
Oyster mushrooms perform best on lignin-rich substrates, which support their naturally fast and aggressive growth. For optimal results, we recommend transferring colonised grain to a hardwood-based substrate such as sawdust, wood pellets, or a 50/50 hardwood and soy hull blend (commonly known as Master’s Mix). Straw is also a reliable, beginner-friendly option that delivers consistent results. While Oyster mycelium may colonise other materials, substrates such as CVG (coco coir, vermiculite, gypsum) are not recommended, as they lack the nutrients required for strong growth and high yields.
Storage
Store in a cool, dark place. Refrigeration between 2–8°C is recommended for long-term storage. When stored correctly, cultures can remain viable for extended periods.
